If you’re looking for a portable, hassle free, full-featured spool gun solution for your steel or aluminum welding projects, look no further than Lincoln’s Magnum PRO 250LX GT K3569-2 spool gun for you next in-field welding job. The Magnum PRO 250LX GT connects directly to Red-D-Arc’s new GX330XL (and Lincoln’s Ranger 330MPX) without the need for additional adapters or control boxes. It’s simply a matter of attaching the gas hose, attaching the 7-pin control cable, and attaching the power cable to the output studs for .025”, .035” steel wire welding or .030”-.035” and 3/64” aluminum wire welding.

Synergic Wire Speed Adjustment

Wire speed is dialed in remotely at the spool gun, and the voltage is synergically adjusted on the GX330XL, which provides optimized welding parameters without the need to travel back to the power source. When the wire feed speed is changed, the voltage is automatically modified up or down to maintain a similar arc length. The spool gun can be set to either “normal” or “synergic” control and a remote control can also be plugged into the 6-pin connector for setting the voltage away from the GX330XL.

Aluminum Pulse MIG Capability with Spot Time

Activating Spool Gun Pulse through the control touch pad (GUI) toggles both the voltage and wire feed speed between a peak and low level which is useful for lower heat input welding and creating the appearance of “stacked dimes” in aluminum. The pulse frequency can be adjusted between OFF and 2.5 hertz. Spot Time is useful for making multiple welds of a similar size, when welding on thin material to control heat input, and to make consistent-sized tack welds. When spot time is enabled, welding continues for the period of time chosen, as long as the trigger is engaged. Welding stops when the time is exceeded, even if the trigger remains engaged. Release the trigger and engage again to make another weld.

The built-in gas valve allows gas flow to be controlled at the trigger so a separate control module is not required.
